Thursday 4th October - Swaziland - Mbuluzi to South Africa - Hluhluwe
Mbuluzi doesnt have the big five, but the scenery is beautiful and there are walking trails and rivers to fish in so it would be easy to spend several days there. We dont have fishing rods with us, but the river down from the cottage was just too inviting for Andrew and so he improvised a rod and spent a couple of hours trying to catch something. He did catch a couple of tiny fish and one slightly larger one perhaps the size of a small trout.

Before leaving Mbuluzi this morning, we drove to a viewpoint in the park. The views were beautiful and the girls were fascinated by a little tortoise who was peacefully enjoying the panorama until we turned up.

Driving south from Mbuluzi, the road took us between 2 of Swazilands main game parks Hlane and Mlawula. We were amused by the sign warning cyclists of the risks of lions and elephants!

We crossed the border back into South Africa at Lavumisa, stopped for a break at Mkuze and then continued on to Hluhluwe (pronounced shlooshloowee) where we booked into Isinkwe Backpackers for the night.

Isinkwe Backpackers is very good, clean and well-run, but by far the most exciting thing about it is the possibility of feeding bushbabies. Every evening the staff at the backpackers put out bananas on a bird-table and the bushbabies jump down from the trees to gobble it up. About 8 bushbabies came down this evening. They are so cute fluffy with big round eyes. We all enjoyed watching them so close up.
